Dance Fitness Class

The demands on a dancer today are far greater than they were even 20 years ago.  For this reason, a dancer’s training methods have had to change.

This class is designed to supplement technique class and provide dancers targeted training in areas including aerobic conditioning, anaerobic conditioning, strength, plyometrics, proprioception, and flexibility.  Research in dance medicine has shown that incorporating this type of training not only reduces the rate of injury buy also carries over into regular dance classes by giving the dancer a stronger foundation from which they can better apply correct dance technique and express artistry in their movements.

Dancers have different metabolic needs at different stages of adolescence and at different levels of training.  The class will be tailored to the needs of the individual dancers attending the class, with two different days/times offered.  Interested dancers will need to complete a brief information survey prior to attending.
